What a beautifully written essay. What spoke to me was your mourning the loss of religion. Life was so much simpler when I was Catholic. Novenas, Rosary Beads, Confession cured every ill. Until the priests became monsters and the congregation became hard core right wingers . (Not everyone mind you..,some wonderful Catholics remain) but, I felt like my life raft was taken away.
