I’m sure you have touched many lives by being such a compassionate Doctor, Michael. Reading your article brought back the memory of a young, cocky intern who yelled at me to “get a grip lady” after he told me how low my mother’s vitals were. I was young, and became hysterical!. I felt panicky and asked if she was going to die. He said “oh she’s going to crash and burn”. This time I became out of my mind hysterical. The attending doctor came out and told that little asshole intern to leave and he explained her condition in a calm, professional way. I relaxed and felt he was on my team to save her…which he did. I’ll never forget what a difference was made by a cavalier versus a caring attitude. All the difference in the world. This was good for me to read…thank you!
