I couldn't agree with you more!! Although I am a grandmother now, I wasn't for a long time after most women my age were! My kids got married when older and had kids when they were older. But when they were single, I was amazed at how women my age perceived non-grandmothers. Running into old classmates I knew I'd get the question "Well how many grandkids do you have? When I said none, my kids aren't married. Oh, the pity!! the condolences! The sad pouty face as they said.I'm sorry, you must be so sad, we have 10...or whatever!....It wasn't like my kids had leprosy! I didn't know if they would ever get married or have kids...It didn't make me or them "less than" but some people made me feel like that . Arrrgh I wanted to scream. I wasn't sad! I loved my kids at every stage, single or not. I was proud of their accomplishments and my own. I love my grandkids too, but I am not only a mom and grandma. Good for you Jo! We are women, first and foremost...hear us roar! 🐯 Sorry for the rant...you touched a nerve! ha.
